Our rotary exchange student program in Japan stated since Aug.1 this year and two students from La Habra Rotary Club went to Uzumasa Film Studio in Kyoto with me and the other rotarian. I hope they had a good time in Kyoto with Samurai costume on Aug 04. This our program between La Habra rotary club and our Takarazuka Mukogawa Rotary club has been continued more than 30 years. Every year, 2 or 3 students stay in the other country for 10 to 2weeks each other to learn about mainly culture, lifestyle, business, history and language each other.

They have arrived at home. Here is the message from students' father Grant.

 (8th, Aug.,2011)

All the photos made me smile and I knew my daughters were with friends. I am glad they are home because I missed them but they shared with me how very special their time was with all of you. Please express my deepest thanks to all of the Takarazuka Mukogawa Rotarians and to all who housed and transported and spent time with my daughters. Highest Regards...Grant

They gave us very nice messages today at the rotary meeting as follows:

(4th, Aug. 2011)

Japan has been such a great experience for Bree and me. We've been privileged to see many wonderful places like Osaka,Takarazuka,Kobe, and Kyoto. I've been loving every minute of it !One thing I was nervous for before arriving to Japan was the food. I was afraid I would't like anything, but it  turns out the food is delicious ! We've eaten Susi,Kobe beef,Soba noodles, konomiyaki,Teriyaki chicken,Tempra, and so much more. The Japanese people have been very friendly and we appreciate the kindness that has been shown to us. Everyone we have met has greeted us with warm smiles and welcoming attitudes. That is probably the thing I will remember the most. Thank you Takarazuka Mukogawa Rotary Club for giving us this Once-in-a -lifetime opportunity to visit the wonderful country of Japan.    Claire Burdick

Japan has been an amazing experience. It's one I will never forget. The culture is so different from home, but I'm glad I got to learn about it. We have tried many foods. We got to sightsee the cities of Osaka,Takarazuka, and Kyoto. Claire and I also had the opportunity to meet the mayor of Takarazuka. We went to Mt. Rocco the 2nd day and had a delicious BBQ dinner. We went to Mino Falls. What a beautiful sight! (Moocha-koo-cha-quiere.) Our homestay families have had incredible hospitality and I have enjoyed getting to know them. Claire and I have also enjoyed shopping. We can do that in any country!!! In conclusion,Japan has been a great learning experience for us and we will cherish these memories forever.    Bree Burdick

To Kanaoka san. I'm Takahiro Higashiguchi. I'm wrighting e-mail in McCauleys' house. We can't type in Japanese, so I try to make e-mail in English. We enjoy American life very much. McCauleys have a spa! Like a "Roten-buro"! The way to LAX was a little long, but the flight was exciting for Shogo because it was the first time for him in the sky. Everything is OK right now. We are going to Sushi dinner tonight. We are looking forward to it!! See you later...

Aug06
I'm shogo at McCauley house. We'll go to Rotary meeting soon. Takahiro makes speech memo now. People are very kind to us and energish. One day, children (Claytons) brought us to "Knott's",there were many attructions. We rided them almost all, so we were very tired and dizzy. However, American children have looked fine yet,crazy... we are going to leave McCauleys. Bye Bye McCauley, and thank you for hospitality!
